Mark Your Calendars: The Future of Sustainable Lifestyles and Entrepreneurship

Written by David Jay on February 14, 2011

Visions of the future can have a transformative effect on the present. World’s fairs, technology expos, and science fiction are all ways in which the thought leaders and the general public find shared images of the future that are worth working together to create. In order to spread these images, Collective Invention and the Collaborating Center on Sustainable Consumption (CSCP) are partnering to build a free public exhibition of a future in which communities across the globe have fundamentally transformed to embrace sustainable lifestyles.

The exhibit will display communities from the future which have succeeded in transitioning to sustainable consumption. Attendees will be able to compare communities which are urban and rural, affluent and emerging, and situated in widely divergent cultural contexts. Displays will be populated by live actors embodying the people who live and work in these communities. Collective Invention is thrilled to collaborate with the CSCP on building these personas.

The Future of Sustainable Lifestyles and Entrepreneurship will take place in Cologne, Germany on May 25th and 26, 2011. Register at:http://www.future-lifestyles-entrepreneurship.org/
